Citizenship Information Night

May 31, 2022 @ 5:00 pm 6:30 pm

The first event in the Jackson Hole Citizenship Series is Citizenship Information Night! This takes place on May 31 at 5 p.m. at the Teton County Library Auditorium.

The Jackson Hole Citizenship Series is a two-day program aimed at supporting eligible legal permanent residents to prepare and apply for U.S. naturalization. We will share information about the process and advantages of becoming a naturalized citizen and provide free legal assistance with completing naturalization paperwork.

Why should you attend? Citizenship is the most stable, secure immigration status available in the United States, and it enables meaningful civic engagement, including voting at all levels. Naturalization is hugely beneficial for both the individual and the community at large, but the process can be daunting. These workshops are designed to provide comprehensive assistance to immigrants wishing to take their first steps toward U.S. citizenship.

Rosie Read, ACLU-WY Immigration Staff Attorney, will discuss the naturalization process, requirements for eligibility, and rights associated with U.S. citizenship at the information session on May 31. Volunteer attorneys will assist naturalization applicants with completion of application paperwork on June 11.

Cosponsored by the ACLU of Wyoming, Immigrant Hope, Teton Dems, Teton County Republicans, and Voices JH. The Citizenship Series is part of Voices’ and Immigrant Hope’s celebration of Immigrant Heritage Month.

Voices JH is proud to be a fiscally sponsored program of Legacy Philanthropy Works.

Support this event as a volunteer attorney: Voices JH is seeking attorneys to support green card holders in Completing their citizenship applications at Citizenship Day. Training will be provided, and no immigration experience is necessary. If you are interested, please reach out to Jordan Rich, jrich@voicesjh.org by June 1.
