Background: Senate File 30 would clarify the definition of a "qualified elector" following a new voter registration law passed in 2025 that requires proof of citizenship and state residency for at least 30 days to vote.

Our Stance: The ACLU of Wyoming opposes Senate File 30.

Requiring a citizen to reside in a certain place for a predetermined length of time places an unnecessary barrier to a citizen's right to vote and participate in elections.
