Summary

We're arguing that Laramie County Sheriff Brian Kozak broke the law by contracting with ICE – effectively deputizing local law enforcement to operate as immigration agents – without the proper oversight of the county commission and without any input from the community.

But what does all that really mean? What are we asking the court to do? What do we hope the lawsuit will accomplish? How will this help us stop the spread of 287(g) agreements in Wyoming?

We know you have questions. We want to provide some answers.

Join us on June 8 at 5:30 p.m. MT for a virtual forum surrounding our new lawsuit challenging 287(g) agreements in Laramie County.

As well as hearing from ACLU of Wyoming Executive Director Libby Skarin, Senior Staff Attorney Andrew Malone, and Advocacy Director Antonio Serrano, we'll also be setting aside time for questions from the community.
