Tell Teton County to Include DACA Holders in Housing Ordinances

DREAMERS ARE HERE TO STAY.

DREAMers want to stay in Jackson and continue their critical participation in the local workforce, but affordable housing, as everyone knows, isn't easy to find.

Today we have a chance to make sure more Wyomingites have a fair shot at owning a home by advocating for Jackson and Teton County to include DACA holders in proposed rule changes.

ACT NOW

As current town and county regulations stand, folks looking to buy properties available through the Housing Department must have at least one adult member who is a U.S. citizen or a green card holder.

That means DACA recipients can’t purchase affordable homes.

The proposed rule changes that are up for a vote in less than two weeks would allow DACA recipients with a Social Security number and valid employment authorization to purchase deed-restricted units. This a is a great step forward.

DREAMers aren't going anywhere. Let's make sure of that by giving them an equal opportunity to own an affordable home in Jackson. It's the right thing to do.
