Tell Your Senators: Postal Banking Now

The U.S. Postal Service is uniquely positioned to make financial stability accessible and to help address the racial wealth gap in this country – all through postal banking.

Right now, Congress is considering whether it will support expanding the USPS’s capabilities to offer basic financial services, beginning with 10 pilot programs in local post offices across the country. For the 64 million Americans – disproportionately Black and Brown people – who can’t currently access basic financial services and are often forced to pay thousands a year in fees for alternatives, this could have a huge impact. That is why we must do all we can to push Congress to act: Send a message to your senators today and urge them to support the expansion of postal banking now.

Support Postal Banking Now

As your constituent, I'm urging you to support the expansion of basic financial services by the U.S. Postal Service – and more specifically providing funds for the USPS to carry out pilot programs in the fiscal year ahead that will introduce these services in local post offices nationwide and help millions of those without access to low-cost banking, disproportionately people of color.

Please support strengthening USPS's capabilities for affordable postal banking – and by extension, address our country's harmful racial wealth gap.

Sincerely,
