UPDATE: House lawmakers did not pass House Bill 156.

***

House Bill 156 would require Wyoming voters to use photo IDs when voting, removing Medicare and Medicaid cards as acceptable ID at the polls.

The ACLU of Wyoming opposes House Bill 156. Voter ID laws deprive many voters of their right to vote, reduce participation, and stand in direct opposition to our country’s trend of including more Americans in the democratic process. Voters without photo IDs are disproportionately low-income, racial and ethnic minorities, the elderly, and people with disabilities.
