UPDATE: House Bill 152 became law.
***

House Bill 152 would ban abortion by amending Wyoming’s constitution. Those who provide abortions also could face criminal and civil penalties. House Bill 152 also would establish a fetus as a person with full rights as Wyoming citizen.

The ACLU of Wyoming opposes House Bill 152. Deeply personal decisions like when, whether, and how to start a family should be made by people – not dictated by politicians. Access to abortion shouldn’t depend on where we live, how much money we make, or who we are. The right to control our own bodies and to make such deeply personal decisions is ours, not the government’s.
