The problems with the death penalty are well known and damning. The practice is irreparably biased; it delays justice for victims’ families and draws out their suffering; and it is ineffective in deterring crime.
Additionally, the death penalty costs Wyoming hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars every year – as it does for every state in which the death penalty is still law.
That’s why the ACLU of Wyoming is working to end the death penalty in our state and is part of the Wyoming Campaign to End the Death Penalty.
The ACLU of Wyoming, the Wyoming Campaign to End the Death Penalty is supported by the Catholic Diocese of Cheyenne, the League of Women Voters of Wyoming, Holy Apostles Orthodox Christian Church of Cheyenne, and the Wyoming NAACP.
